Article 9: Meetings

Section 1: Regular Meetings

The Association shall hold a minimum of nine (9) regular meetings per year at a time and place designated by the Executive Board. Of the nine (9) regular meetings held during the year, three (3) of those meetings must be held in the months of November, December, and January during the prescribed election year.

Section 2: Special Meetings

Special meetings of said Association shall be called by the President, the Executive Board or upon request in writing, signed by twenty five (25) active members in good standing and delivered to the President. Said request shall contain a summary of the business to be discussed and the special meeting shall be limited to such business.

Section 3: Notice

The Secretary shall at least one (1) week before any regular meeting, notify the membership of the time and place of said meeting.

Section 4: Quorums

Twenty five (25) active members in good standing shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting other than a meeting for the recall of an officer which shall require a quorum of fifty (50) active members in good standing.

Section 5: Conduct of Meetings

The conduct of all meetings of the Association and the Executive Board shall be governed by The “Rhode Island Troopers Association”.

Section 6: Order of Business

The following shall be the order of business at any regular meeting:

• Opening Prayer
• Pledge of Allegiance
• Secretary’s Report of previous meeting
• Financial Report from Treasurer
• Unfinished Business
• New Business
• Complaints and/or suggestions
• Closing Prayer
• Adjournment
